The New Hampshire National Guard Soldiers fulfill dual roles by serving both their local community and the nation. Their adaptability allows them to effectively respond to a variety of situations including domestic emergencies, overseas combat missions, counter-drug efforts, and reconstruction missions. The Guard consistently exhibits swift, robust, and efficient responses aimed at safeguarding American freedom and upholding its core values.

Upon joining the Guard, individuals are primarily assigned to duty within their home state. In times of need, the Governor or the President can mobilize the Guard promptly. Typically, Guard Soldiers live in proximity to friends and family while maintaining civilian employment. Monthly drills are scheduled for weekends, with an annual two-week training session conducted each year.
